Introducing Fuwarica to Support Busy Staff
YAKINIKU DONDON-TEI operates eight yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) restaurants, including affiliated locations, mainly in Okayama Prefecture.
Popular among local families, this restaurant prides itself on using only A4-grade or higher Wagyu beef, sourced from trusted regions. Each cut is expertly prepared by skilled artisans, ensuring both safety and exceptional flavor in every bite.
We spoke with President Miyake, who has a management philosophy of "The satisfaction of each customer and the happiness of each employee."
Although he was already familiar with Fuwarica, he initially thought it was enough to serve rice by hand. However, with the intention of easing the burden on staff during busy lunch hours, Fuwarica was introduced.
After implementing it, they quickly recognized the significant impact the machine had.
With over 300 employees across all locations, maintaining consistent rice portioning had been a challenge. However, with Fuwarica, they are now able to serve the rice in a fluffy, uniform manner.
The young part-time staff no longer struggled with portioning, and the issue they had been concerned about—the rice drying out due to the frequent opening and closing of the rice cooker—was also resolved.
Although each improvement may seem small on its own, with up to 40 kg of rice prepared daily, these refinements add up over time, bringing significant benefits.
Avoiding Order Mistakes with Memory Production Mode
One feature that is especially effective during lunch, when there are many set meal orders, is the "Memory Production Mode."
Fuwarica can store up to five orders*, so staff can press the button for each table with an order, then simply set the rice bowls and serve the rice one after another.
Even when staff interact with customers or need to handle other tasks while portioning rice, they can still serve the correct order accurately and without mistakes.
They take pride in using 100% locally grown Koshihikari rice from Kagamino Town, Okayama.
President Miyake shared, "Our mission is to deliver the rice, which is lovingly cultivated by farmers over the course of a year, in its most delicious and beautiful state. Fuwarica has contributed significantly to this goal."
DONDON-TEI strives to be a place where three generations of families can enjoy yakiniku together. Its most popular dish, the addictive 'Harami' (skirt steak), paired with Fuwarica’s fluffy rice, will continue to satisfy customers with both its flavor and dining experience.
